Welcoming over 400 attendees from across 125 national and international companies, UIOGS is established as the must-attend meeting for all stakeholders in East Africa

Uganda’s first oil production is expected in 2021, hitting its peak at around 200,000 bpd by 2026, making the country the fourth largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa.

With a stabilised government, numerous tax and financial breaks for investors, the refinery underway, pipeline development and pound for pound one of the most cost effective options for oil extraction available, the Albertine Graben offers a real opportunity.

Hosted by Hon. Eng. Minister Irene Muloni, and under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Uganda; UIOGS is supported by the Uganda National Oil Company and Petroleum Authority Uganda.

The programme examines the future of oil and gas exploration and production in Uganda, setting out the government’s vision and implementation for sustainable, long term development and bringing them together with potential private sector partners and other stakeholders, to share announcements and successes and discuss any hurdles that have been encountered.

The Conference

The 6th UIOGS strategic conference programme has been developed in close consultation with The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.

The Ministry's guidance ensures the programme's clarity in addressing the most important issues for Uganda and all its stakeholders across the value chain with an interest in the future of oil and gas exploration and production in the region.

Across two days, speakers and delegates will have the opportunity to participate within business, technical and special focus sessions, providing critical insights into the region's oil and gas sector.

Major business platform

"Following the undoubted success of the last two Summits in attracting international investors from around the world, UIOGS has become a major business platform for oil and gas in Uganda where all the decision makers for the region are united for three days' high level discussions and networking."
