Chris has more than 40 years experience with major international oil companies in upstream operations and engineering management.
Additionally, he is a recognized industry expert covering all aspects of integrity and corrosion management from wells to facilities and pipelines. He has worked with world scale oil and gas fields in the North Sea, Alaska, UAE and Azerbaijan, managing offshore oil production, gas fields and an FPSO in the West of Shetlands Atlantic region. Chris has frequently applied new technologies to tackle issues such as downhole corrosion, reservoir souring, corrosion monitoring and the application of new materials, especially non-metallics.
Since 2001, his roles with BP included, Upstream Global Network Leader for Integrity Management, Team Leader in Central Engineering for BP’s senior technical specialists, and an assignment to ADNOC Offshore in the UAE, as their Integrity Division Manager. In 2008, Chris took over the role of Engineering Authority for BP Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea operations, including the world scale Sangachal onshore terminal and BTC export pipeline system to Ceyhan, Turkey.
This role was responsible for oversight of engineering risk management with a team of discipline technical authorities and supporting development of local engineering capability.
Chris has led or chaired several industry technical committees and conferences over the years and over the past 2 years has been working for AVEVA to promote the many benefits of digitalization with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
