Welcome to the 3rd Uganda International Oil & Gas Summit

The international oil and gas industry is once again set to converge for the Ugandan government’s official annual conference for oil and gas development – the Uganda International Oil & Gas Summit (UIOGS).

Now in its third year, UIOGS will take place 27-28 September at the Kampala Serena Hotel, Uganda. Hosted again by H.E. Yoweri K Museveni alongside Hon. Minister Irene Muloni, and Dr Ernest Rubondo, UIOGS 2017 is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Uganda with the support of the Uganda National Oil Company and Petroleum Authority Uganda. UIOGS 2017 will once again examine the industry's developments and succeses, whilst looking toward the challenges and next steps on the roadmap to production.

With over 21 oil and/or gas discoveries made to date, 87 oil wells drilled and 21 fields in existence, the long-awaited development phase is now in full flow.  With the 6.5 billion barrels of oil and close to 500 billion cubic feet of gas, Uganda is one of the most promising areas for exploration ROI on offer.

Major business platform

"Following the undoubted success of the last 2 Summits in attracting international investors from around the world, UIOGS has become a major business platform for oil and gas in Uganda where all the decision makers for the region are united for three days' high level discussions and networking.

We have much to look forward to in 2017 as Uganda continues with preparations towards commercial oil production involving development of the refinery and crude export pipeline.

At the 3rd UIOGS there will be many important issues to address so we call on all our partners and investors to actively participate."

Hon. Eng. Irene Muloni, Minister for Energy & Mineral Development

Why Uganda?

As development plans march ahead for oil production by 2020, Uganda has become more and more attractive, offering a lower risk than similar sites across the globe.  With a stablised government, numerous tax and financial breaks for investers, the refinery underway, pipeline development and pound for pound one of the most cost effecive options for oil extraction available, the Albertine Graben offers a real opportunity.

Join hundreds of prospecting oil majors, the ministry, national oil companies, service providers, contractors, investors, financial services, indigenous companies, law firms and every stop along the value chain, for Uganda's offical and largest oil and gas summit.
